We had the pleasure of inviting Ricky to play flute in our Advent Carols Services in 2020 and 2022.
A recipient of the Junior Trinity Cassal Prize for Woodwind, Ricky is an interdisciplinary musician who studies flute at the Royal Academy of Music with Lucy Driver as part of his course at King’s College London, where he is also a choral scholar.
Born in Greenwich, Ricky commenced his musical studies on piano at the Blackheath Conservatoire at the age of 10, then furthering his studies at The Mick Jagger Centre, where he was recognised with the county Spirit of Try Angle Award for Personal Achievement in Music.
Prior to his studies at King’s, Ricky attended the Junior Department of Trinity Laban Conservatoire as a scholarship recipient, studying flute with Thea Cramp and piano with Peter Arnold.
With experience performing with the English Schools Orchestra and National Youth Concert Band of Great Britain, he has performed in venues across the country, with recent appearances at St John’s Smith Square and the Royal Festival Hall.
Ricky is passionate about music education and promoting the positive effects of music, with a highlight of his career seeing him direct a choral spectacular for a residential home for the elderly.
